All data is public and attributable — federal and state agencies, the Census, and open datasets. No black-box inputs.
Vintage & freshness
Each source shows its data year and when we last loaded it. A recent vintage isn't always available; we label what we have.
Honest coverage
Some sources cover only monitored counties or lag by a year. A blank isn't "clean" — it's unmeasured, and we say so on each map.
What we protect
The sources are open. The methods that combine, weight, and score them into our indices are proprietary and not disclosed. See the terms.
How to read a source. Vintage is the year of the data itself; cadence is how often the provider issues it; refreshed is when we last pulled it into the platform. Straight-line distances are floors, not drive times. Tract-level figures for sovereign tribal-nation lands are withheld from public analytics pending consent.
